since its inception in 2012, every august the jurassic classic mountain bike festival highlights the growing bike culture over the course of 4 days and 4 trail systems. the lander cycling club’s goal for this small event is to provide a family friendly excuse to celebrate an active outdoor lifestyle, local economic stimulation, and most importantly, increased awareness of current and future cycling efforts in our area, including but not limited to trail/land stewardship and community engagement.
In two years of directing this festival (2021-22), event participation increased by 40% and sponsorship and fundraising doubled each summer, setting important new milestones for the organization.

from 2020-2022 i served on the board as the outreach coordinator and event director for the lander cycling club. the lcc is a nonprofit focused on giving back to the community through grant funded projects, resource allocation, and volunteer hours in the name of cycling-related growth in lander, wyoming.
while on the board, i ran social media and email communications to our member base, directed the club’s largest annual event, organized intermittent fundraising and educational events, provided writing, graphic design and photography assets for marketing, collaborated with other organizations and government entities, implemented ideas to further funding/event sponsorship, as well as volunteered for and coordinated various projects.
from 2019-2022 i worked part and full-time at local bike and ski shop, gannett peak sports. fondly connoted as the “community stop” in town, this shop is run with a philosophy of welcoming everyone no matter their interests, skill level or budget.
my role at the shop was to consistently and reliably update our followers not only on products and events happening at the shop, but also to keep them informed about projects and volunteer opportunities from the local cycling club, relevant news in our town or industry, and helpful research and tips. i also generated periodic emails highlighting important classes, volunteer opportunities, sales, and events. this online presence had a notable impact on community participation and sales. i collaborated with coworkers to create and publish a poll to weigh in on customers’ thoughts on product in the store. i strategized with the owner and manager about ways to boost sales. i organized and coordinated events and constantly sought opportunities to engage with the community. i provided photography, graphic design, and writing as marketing materials.
